It is not possible to control the quality through industrial methods. We personally inspect every hide of Old Leather, Correspondent, and Old Washed. They travel to Italy 3-4 times per year for this purpose. Bosca sign the back of each approved hide. Bosca is a small artisan company run by the third generation of an Italian-American immigrant family. Bosca is small by choice; they do what they do, the way they do it, because this is what they believe in. LEATHER – HANDSTAINEDOur leathers are natural with little or no finish which would hide the true character of the leather. Our most famous leather is called Old Leather. This leather is hand-stained by artisans in Italy. Bosca’s “Old Washed” is also a hand-stained, Italian, vegetable-tanned leather which undergoes a special washing process to give it a further, softened and vintage look and feel.
