REEDERANG VINTAGE 1950s BRITISH TAN THICK SADDLE LEATHER MACBOOK BRIEFCASE BAG R$1448 My bags are the antidote to the poly-lined synthetic leather run-of-the-mill bags being produced in China. Most of my bags are full-grain leather; Artisan craft, with authentic distressed character, and many with modifications unique to our line. We only use high-grade men’s belts for shoulder straps. This leather is reminiscent of equestrian leather halter straps. I also use half-centimeter thick mooseskin. Nothing wimpy here; quality and character stand out and stands the test of a truly rugged lifestyle. Invest in a bag that you’ll love more and more over time. Not all leather bags are created the same. A great quality leather bag is supposed to look better with time as the leather acquires marks and age-related wear. Make sure to check out my whole store. At the time of this listing, I have 180 items all unique and different. Many with added Mooseskin handles; my “trademark” unique idea. Once you have tried it you will wonder how you functioned before without an inside handle. Also on many of my briefcases, I add a mooseskin handle wrap. The handle is the point of contact that the owner has with their bag and the mooseskin is so pleasing to touch. My philosophy in writing descriptions is: a picture speaks 1000 words. That said, here is my description: — I have created another Rare Reederang Repaired One-of-a-Kind Bag: This case is likely in such great condition because the left latch failed early after its creation. I rescued this wonderful bag made in West Germany (see stamp photo) and harvested a brass latch from a 1940s Gladstone-style case and used it to replace the failed left latch. I was fortunate enough to have just enough moose skin in the same color to make it look fantastic. This case took many hours to repair this case and get it ready for its second life. The handle is one of the best I have seen. It has a wonderful tough feel to it and will last decades with everyday use. I added to the inside of each pocket behind the metal latches a patch of deerskin leather to make pockets that play nice with your iPhone’s screen. The leather on this case is thick beautifully tanned leather that will last a lifetime or more. Your kids are likely going to inherit this case if you are fortunate enough to have kids. Many times I will add rivets on the flap seam to strengthen it as this seam can be the first to tear on a briefcase. This West-German-made case has these added already. This is not the norm for most cases. I like the quality OPTI brand zipper with the long zipper pull; it’s easy to grab. This pocket is great for your iPad Pro 12.9 or smaller MacBook 13″ or 14″ It has two long pen pockets on the front perfect for a pen and your Apple Pencil. I like that it does not have a strap. Shoulder straps were very popular when people began to carry large heavy laptops and they needed their shoulders to assist them in carrying them. As laptops began to dominate the marketplace, because of their weight, shoulder straps came first, and then cases with wheels. Now that tech has become lightweight again, the need for straps and wheels is not really an issue anymore. I imagine someone like a college student or an IT professional who appreciates the rugged and vintage look taking this to a meeting. It is sure to get comments and compliments. It is unlined leather; this is very rare these days. Coach, JW Hulme, and even TUMI line their bags with poly nylon cloth these days. It is really rare to find a bag at upscale retailers that is unlined. In my opinion; unlined is so much better and lasts so much longer. Not the new “leather” coming out of China these days. Good old West-German Leather that reminds you of the broken baseball glove that you had when you were a kid. The measurements in inches are approximately: 15W x 11H (not including the handle) x 5D I have this listed as a Men’s bag but any woman who appreciates rugged leather goods could make this work for that perfect rugged look.
